When we launched Bindle Bottle on Kickstarter, we wanted to ensure we offered a selection of colors that would cater to a wide variety of individual tastes. However, with an opening selection of a mere five colors, we knew that could be a challenge.
The Perfect Blend
We also knew that asking our friends and family for their favorite color would only lead to more feedback and a runaway train of suggestions and preferences. Luckily, our first prototype of our “Coral” colorway was love at first sight. We had mapped out our general preferences: hot pink was too loud, red was too bold, and orange was too…orange. However, when blended together with the right weight, we were able to produce a soft, rich Coral color that was a perfect representation of our coastal roots.
In an unexpected turn of events, the most rewarding moment in the development of this product came almost one year after we launched it, when Living Coral was named the Pantone Color of the Year 2019. We savored that announcement, high-fived about our skillful lucky selection of a trendy color, and got back to work selecting our next wave of delightful designs that will be arriving on our site in the coming weeks.
"Color is an equalizing lens through which we experience our natural and digital realities and this is particularly true for Living Coral. With consumers craving human direction interaction and social connection, the humanizing and heartening qualities displayed by the convivial Pantone Living Coral hit a responsive chords. "
